Lionel Richie, 77, was taken to hospital by ambulance after a dizzy spell forced him to cut short his concert at the Grand Casino Arena in Minnesota on Wednesday night. The music legend, performing with Earth, Wind & Fire as part of their joint US tour, was seen in fan footage attempting to finish his hit Dancing on the Ceiling while sitting on the steps leading up to the band. He then returned to his feet, but a second dizzy spell forced him to sit on the edge of the stage, catching his breath. He managed one more song at the piano before leaving the stage. His saxophonist Dino Soldo then told the crowd that Richie wasn't feeling well and would not be returning, ending the show. TMZ reported that the star was attended to by paramedics backstage and subsequently taken to hospital as a precautionary measure. The Sun has contacted representatives for Richie for comment. He is next scheduled to perform in Chicago on Friday night.
