£2m National Lottery jackpot up for grabs in tonight's Lotto draw

Tonight's National Lottery Lotto draw offers a life-changing £2 million jackpot – enough to buy a dream home, retire, or travel the world. The winning numbers are drawn at 8pm, with the Thunderball draw following at 8.15pm, where players can win £500,000.

Tickets cost £2 each, and players must pick six numbers from 1 to 59 or use a lucky dip. Up to seven lines can be played on each slip, and entry is available online or at tens of thousands of retailers across the UK. The odds of matching all six numbers and winning the jackpot stand at around 1 in 45,057,474.

Under the new Lotto format, each Wednesday and Saturday draw features two rounds, giving players two chances to win with every line for the same price. Ticket purchases closed at 7.33pm, less than 30 minutes before the draw.

Since the UK National Lottery launched on November 19, 1994, it has distributed funds widely: around half of all ticket sales go to prizes, while 28% supports good causes. The remainder is split between government duty (12%), retailers (5%), and the operator (5%). The biggest Lotto prize ever claimed came in April 2016, when a single anonymous ticket-holder won £35 million.

As the clock ticks towards 8pm, players across the country will be checking their numbers, hoping to become the latest millionaire created by the lottery.
