Daniel Morgan was doing what he loved when a suspected paragliding accident claimed his life at a beauty spot in Swansea. The 42-year-old from Cross Hands, Wales, was pronounced dead at the cliffs in Rhossili at around 9pm on Monday, May 11, after emergency services were called to reports of an accident. HM Coastguard alerted South Wales Police, who said an air ambulance also attended. "Despite the best efforts of the coastguard and air ambulance 42-year-old Daniel Morgan from Cross Hands died at the scene," a police spokesman said. "Investigations into the incident are ongoing."
Morgan’s family have now launched two fundraisers in his memory – one for the Coastguard and another for Wales Air Ambulance. In a statement, they described him as a "fiercely loyal, honest, and deeply caring brother, son, and friend" who "truly lived life to the absolute fullest". They said he "approached the world with open arms, a sense of adventure, and a heart larger than life". The accident happened while he was paragliding with friends. "It brings us some comfort that he was in the company of his friends at a location he loved, Rhossili Bay," the family added.
