Less than a week after their wedding at All Saints Church in Kemble, Gloucestershire, Peter Phillips and his bride Harriet Sperling have released two official portraits that capture the newlyweds in a moment of quiet joy. The photographs, taken by Mark Nicholson, show the couple outside the church and in the Conservatory at Gatcombe Park, the estate of the groom’s mother, the Princess Royal, who hosted the reception just a few miles from the ceremony.

In the first image, Mrs Phillips, a 46-year-old NHS paediatric nurse, gazes at her husband as he smiles at the camera, surrounded by foliage. She wears an Emilia Wickstead gown of French lace, Jimmy Choo heels, and a tiara from Mayfair jeweller Pragnell. Mr Phillips, 48, the son of the Princess Royal, opted for a pale‑blue waistcoat and a matching buttonhole flower. The bride’s white bouquet – sweet peas, myrtle, and lily of the valley – echoes the floral arch through which the couple emerged to three cheers from the crowd.

The second portrait shows them walking out of the church, smiling. The floral arrangements – pink, blue and white – were designed by florist Millie Richardson, 40, whom Mrs Phillips had been following on Instagram. Mrs Richardson told the Telegraph that the couple were “sustainably aware about where their flowers are coming from”, adding that King Charles’s environmental focus was an important consideration. “The majority of foliage and flowers are coming from less than 12 miles away. What Harriet and Peter want to show is the rhythm of the season ensuring the design is formed off the back of what is available,” she said. Describing the couple as “down‑to‑earth, kind, genuine people”, she noted that they “have thought about what they want for their day and make their point of difference”.

The wedding on Saturday was attended by the King and Queen, the Prince and Princess of Wales, and other family and friends. The Princess Royal hosted the reception at Gatcombe Park. Through the portraits, the couple have offered the public a glimpse of a day that blended royal tradition with eco‑conscious choices – a balance that, according to their florist, reflects their character.
