Three people were stabbed in east London on Saturday after reports of a large fight, police said — the latest in a weekend of violence that left two people murdered and seven others injured across six separate incidents.
Emergency services were called to the scene following the brawl, which broke out in an area already reeling from a spate of knife crime. The three victims were taken to hospital, though their conditions have not been disclosed.
“Three stabbed in east London after fight; weekend sees two murdered and seven others stabbed across six incidents.”
The attack came during a bloody 72-hour period stretching from Friday to the early hours of Monday, during which London recorded two homicides and a total of ten stabbing victims, according to the Metropolitan Police. Officers responded to six separate incidents across the capital, with the east London stabbing among the most serious.
One of the fatal attacks occurred in Silvertown, where singer-songwriter Talay Riley was stabbed to death at an address. Tributes poured in from stars including Stormzy and Craig David. The other murder took place in Finchley, where a shooting claimed another life.
The violence has raised fresh concerns about knife crime in the capital, with police yet to confirm any arrests in connection with the east London stabbings. The force urged anyone with information to come forward.
