Tom Holland has finally confirmed what millions of Spider-Man fans hoped was true: he is married to Zendaya. In an interview with Esquire UK published on Tuesday, the 30-year-old actor put an end to months of speculation—prompted not by a ring on her finger or a stylist's hint, but by AI-generated images that fooled even his own grandmother.
The fake photographs, which spread on social media, appeared to show the couple's wedding ceremony. Holland told the magazine he found the funny side, but his grandmother did not: she thought she had been left off the guest list. When the reporter asked whether Holland had to reassure other family members, the British actor replied: "No, because they were all there."
“Tom Holland has confirmed he is married to Zendaya, revealing family members were present at the ceremony.”
It was the first time he had publicly acknowledged the marriage. For months, Holland and Zendaya remained tight-lipped after engagement rumours surfaced in January, when the Euphoria actress wore a diamond ring on a red carpet, and her stylist Law Roach claimed in March that the nuptials had "already happened." The couple never confirmed the reports—until now.
Pressed for details, Holland was succinct: "That's all you'll get on that." The interview was conducted in April, meaning the pair may have been married for months without public knowledge. He did not offer any information about when or where they tied the knot.
Holland and Zendaya met on the set of 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming and confirmed their romance in 2021. Though they typically keep their relationship private, Holland opened up about navigating life with his "person."
"Our business can present very stressful situations and it's really nice to have a bedrock of a relationship that will stand the test of time," he said. "We can support each other in ways that only we can, because only we understand really what it's like to live this life, and I think that is such a luxury."
He added: "So, for me, I found my person. She's my best friend, and I'm the happiest I ever have been when I'm with her, but I also have never felt so supported and safe, ever. Period."
The newlyweds reprise their roles as Peter Parker and MJ in Holland's fourth solo Spider-Man film, Brand New Day, out on 31 July. They also star in The Odyssey, releasing 17 July, though they do not share any scenes in that film.
