Tommy Fury won a majority decision over former World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall in a bizarre exhibition bout at Manchester’s AO Arena on Saturday night – and used the moment to reveal the name of his newborn son.
The 27-year-old half-brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury entered the ring to the 80s hit ‘Midas Touch’, with the name ‘Midas’ stitched onto the back of his jacket and shorts. His daughter Bambi’s name was written across his waistband.

“This was for my new baby son, Midas,” Fury said after the six two-minute rounds. “It’s another Fury, it’s another boy. Welcome to the world.”
The judges – retired world champion Tony Bellew, veteran heavyweight Derek Chisora, and influencer boxer Chase DeMoor – scored the fight 59‑56, 58‑56 and 57‑57 in Fury’s favour, though the result will not go on his professional record as the contest was an exhibition.
Hall, 38 and weighing around 100lb more than the Love Island star, spent much of the fight chasing Fury, who skipped along the ropes and landed sporadic counter combinations. Occasionally the strongman caught up and landed a few big shots, but Fury was largely able to neutralise him on the ropes.
“Anyone who thinks he’s a strongman who can’t box, think again,” Fury said. “I’ve fought a lot of people, including actual journeymen boxers, and he can box.”
After the verdict was announced, DeMoor entered the ring and faced off with Fury. “I cannot fight this man until he beats my brother, Roman,” Fury said. “He was meant to fight you, and you bottled it.” Security then had to intervene as DeMoor and Roman Fury threatened to come to blows.
The name Midas – from the Greek legend King Midas of Phrygia, giving rise to the phrase ‘Midas touch’ – came weeks after Molly-Mae gave birth to the couple’s second child, following daughter Bambi. Fury’s only previous bout since his October 2023 win over KSI was a victory over Kenan Hanjalic last May. Hall’s only prior boxing experience was a loss to strongman rival Hafthor Bjornsson four years ago.
