'I believe I'm going to die': woman describes attack by 'evil' predator accused of double murder

A vulnerable woman has described how she believed she was going to die when she was allegedly raped, strangled and beaten by an “evil” serial sexual predator – months before he is accused of murdering two other women.

Simon Levy, 40, is accused of the rape and grievous bodily harm with intent of the woman in a car park in Tottenham, north London, in January last year. The Crown says he then went on to murder Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo, 53, and Sheryl Wilkins, 39, later in 2025.

Woman tells court she believed she would die when attacked by Simon Levy, accused of two murders.

In a videoed police interview played at Levy’s Old Bailey trial on Tuesday, the woman wiped away tears as she recalled the attack. “I would not think this man would be so evil. I believe I’m going to die,” she said. “I couldn’t believe… I will never forget the smell of his hands, salty, smelly.”

The woman, who was doing sex work to feed a drug habit, said she saw a man she knew locally holding a few £10 notes. “I offered him business – sex in exchange for money. He said: ‘Yeah, come come come,'” she told the jury.

They went to the B&M car park, where she asked for payment upfront. Instead, he put his hand on her neck, swung his arm under her leg so she fell, and then “jumped” on her with “all his weight”. She described having a broken clavicle and hitting her head on the ground. “I was kicking my legs under him and I am fighting for my life,” she said.

After she managed to turn onto her stomach, he sexually assaulted her. He covered her nose and mouth and stuck his fingers in her mouth, telling her he had money and would take her out for dinner. The court heard she was “left for dead” behind a wall – at the same location where Levy allegedly murdered Sheryl Wilkins months later.

Prosecutors have described Levy as a “predatory serial offender” who targeted vulnerable women “thinking that he would get away with it” after carrying out 13 sex attacks dating back to July 2018. Sheryl died in August last year, after Levy had been arrested and released by police in relation to Carmenza’s murder. The trial continues.
